WLB, pretty much spot on.
Finding time to even implement a system that will hopefully keep us running is proving tricky but we are nearing a model thanks to help from some key members
Yes my company is in overdraft & i was keeping it as a side hustle but it’s being eaten up by AF fees. We are trying to save for a family project & this is hanging over my head.
When i am asked about costs with re to purchase, alarm bells go off. This isn’t a money making venture & if it were to go that way, the whole feel would change. It may end up a hell of a lot worse than just closing the door, more like disappear. I wouldn’t be able to do anything to save it.
You are most welcome to delete your posts. I can do it with a few clicks instead of individually. Just remember though, your posts will be gone forever either way. I backup each week & if I need to restore, we will only go back to last backup.
Please give me more time. I have lost a lot of sleep over this since I made a decision to shut. It wasn’t easy & still isn’t.
Of course we should trust @gibgib, it's obvious he's is taking great care in managing and planning the future of the forum.
I think those who have been or are considering deleting their posts need some indication of the plan in a timely way so they neither regret deleting everything only to find the forum continues or find the site locked without the option of modifying content.
What he said.Would you trust a man that has been solely funding this site for 22 years to do the right thing by it's members?
Give the man some space to work this through please. . .
Chris
What a strange thing to do. You realise this is the internet?? You don't post anything here thinking you will be able to delete it. If you think anything is deleted so we can't find it .... Just have a look here:I have to admit, I've been torn over this. So much so, that I've been gradually deleting my posts. I think I'm one of the longest members on here, joining in July 2000. I'm torn for several reasons. Why would the owner not on-sell the product to someone else? If it's destined to be read-only, why should I be part of it? Then I do a backflip and start commenting again, as I help to share knowledge. I think I've deleted up to 2007. Sorry, it's just me but my compass is regularly reading north-south over this one.
That's cool, even most of the side tabs work. What a strange thing to do. You realise this is the internet?? You don't post anything here thinking you will be able to delete it. If you think anything is deleted so we can't find it .... Just have a look here:

there is dozens of backups of "everything".... everywhere, if you want to look for it. Eg: my webpage hasn't been up for years ... probably not updated for a decade or so.

Did you finish the DS wagon.
I saw my thread on the Faster Floride on that web archive with a discussion with R8philSA about springs. I have no problem with that discussion being available, I never got to meet him or see his car however I have no intention of deleting that thread or any other thread I started. What a strange thing to do. My mistake you were going to use the running gear out of the wagon to get the D Special going. There is a DS wagon there ..... maybe you mean my fathers old CX wagon.
Gee Shane I enjoyed that. The blue GS looks fantastic. Do you still have it?
Why not delete
Just making the point again that I'm happy to contribute. This really is too good a resource and help system to close.WLB, pretty much spot on.

This point has been made repeatedly by members. We're still just as in the dark as when the closing announcement was made (and for years before that) about running costs.Just making the point again that I'm happy to contribute. This really is too good a resource and help system to close.
Maybe the rejection of your pitch stung but you don’t want to talk down the thing, do you? This point has been made repeatedly by members. We're still just as in the dark as when the closing announcement was made (and for years before that) about running costs.
I'm simply bewildered about this whole process.
Everything is closing... but staying live in a static way... but don't despair something else might happen... there's still time etc etc.
If you were explicitly trying to ruin a community, it's certainly a good way to achieve it.
