Regan Peugeot 605 and 605 roll call

I would say this is the original spare tyre, a Michelin MXV3A. Glad I checked before heading off tomorrow, had 10psi in it. Will have to replace it soon, it won't be very safe to drive on. It's about 28 years old! EDIT: I checked the production date on the tyre, it may not be the original but '185' (18th week of 1995) = still a relic of a tyre.

Those S2 wheels, which resemble the 406 V6 ones, are the best looking, and the easiest to clean.

A couple more 605s around 2008 at the All French Car Days.

I never noticed the white one!

Thanks Big RR, that really helps. A rough head count gives a total of 18 or so cars known of, or seen in the last 10 years, about 8 confirmed as still registered and/or complete. Of 18 cars I have about 3 confirmed as parts cars (I suspect there are at least a couple more salted away). I will compile a spreadsheet of info soon. My thoughts were to compile all known details in the spreadsheet to potentially give to existing owners but publish a stripped version here (with just basic info like year, series, colour, options).

It would be great to get in touch with the owner of the blue car that was at AFD. It is still registered. Note the dual exhaust set up!

Maybe an interesting chart.

A couple of other 605 Rego Numbers of '95 models (around 2003?).
*HVS700 NSW
*GC951 NSW
(Strange mine was GC085, Qld just before it came down to NSW in 1998!)

Another at a motorkhana Qld 2012.

I have done a quick compilation of 'known of' 605s in the last 15 years. There are 23, including Patrick's private import SVE 24v (written off) and Richard's ute. There are possibly more, but it gets too deep into speculation and possible double-ups; even the 23, I am not 100 per cent sure that is correct.

Of that number, I have 6 confirmed running and/or currently registered. Pugrambo, is your car running and on the road? If so, that makes 7. If Richard's ute is alive and well, that's 8.

Three known current parts cars, maybe 4, tbc.

I heard Patricks car was still alive a while back as someone did get it and were using it
Mine isn't reg'd at the moment, not worth it for the use it wasn't getting

Bill Tuckey wrote in the Australian Finiancial Review, November 14, 1994, in an article titled Soft-Tops Reveal The Emotion Factor (regarding mostly the 306 Cabriolet) that,

" By January [Ray] Bowden will finally be in a position to relaunch another image-maker, the big Peugeot 605. The car has been in production for four years, and has had more false starts in Australia than a Skase extradition rumor (sic). Peugeot Australia imported 18 this year, but stoutly kept them out of the hands of the road testers because it was waiting for the fully facelifted 1995 model with driver airbag [my emphasis]. Much the same argument has been advanced by the new Citroen importer, the Ateco group, for the big Citroen XM."

So that would suggest the 18 registered in 1994 were Phase 1s.
