French car owners monthly tyre kicking day

Good work! It shows how the enthusiast lifestyle can be slotted in with other activities.

The park at Silverwater might lack a play set but it's still a good place for kids to let off some steam without the need for hypervigilance.

Tyre Kicking Day No.2

Cool, any pics this time?

A few for the Tyre Kickers. DSC09958.jpgOur 1st Citroens turned up.

You're doing well with the scheduling Rob. Last one Easter Sunday, next one on a round of the NSW motorkhana championship?
I may get to one of these yet....

KB,

you know just how hard it is to shedule these things don't you!

The Tyre Kicking days are held just the 3rd Sunday each month, easy to remember?

Participants at the next Tyre Kicking (18th May) may want to meet then continue the extra 20 (odd) kms up the road to the RENO run State Motorkhana at Nirimba and have a look.:wink2:

It was a secret that I may only be able to attend the first 2 of the first 3 Tyre Kicking events.

I'm happy to be the ringleader for May 18th if nobody else steps up.

Having a Berlingo on call, arriving with a barbecue, demo gearbox, chainsaws, whatever - is not hard.

Although, since Adelaide seems to be a popular destination, perhaps the next NSW meet should be held in the Mt Lofty carpark?

As there are NO rules, you may be ringleader at the Sunday 18th May Tyre Kicking.

Though I do think that you should give another demo of your ECU reading abilities! (before you drive west to Nirimba to have a look at the Reno Motorkhana.) :)

It was good to see a couple of old faces at the FCOMTKD. It's a great idea - talking shit about cars without the nuances of club politics.

Cheers to Addo for hooking up the proxia/lexia thing. It appears the old thing is ticking along just fine.

Three weeks to go. :)

I encourage the lurkers to visit - it is not an extension of the forum for "noisy" people alone. If you're never owned a French car and are reading the Forum, wondering what they're really like - it might also be a good time to roll up and ask questions.

Im in for this one. Anyone need a lift or feel like attending I can fit 1 passenger in the 205.

Cam

It would be more attractive if it were near good coffee........

do they have exclusive title??

Jo

There's a proper café in the public area before you sign in.

I could bring some along? Need a power point... Or a small generator?

Just a reminder, why not call in?
DON'T FORGET

FRENCH CAR OWNERS MONTHLY TYRE KICKING DAY

SUNDAY 17th MAY 2015
I have been hanging around car clubs for about 30 years. I am a member of 2 car clubs (3 counting Aussiefrogs). I for years attended monthly meetings.
During my club membership days I found that the formal part of the car club general meetings BORING! (Probably necessary, though).
The really enjoyable parts of the meetings are the pre and post formal meeting “TYRE KICKING”.
I propose that Sydney/NSW Froggy car owners hold a once a month very informal “TYRE KICKING” gathering.
Regional, interstate “froggers” along with all age groups and sexes are welcome.
No committees and no memberships are required.
The “TYRE KICKING” will be held every 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] Sunday of the month at a central location, commencing nominally around 10:30am.
The “TYRE KICKING” should continue through till all, tyre kicking, parts exchanging, information gathering/sharing, boot sales, spruiking, skiting and general “B___S____ing” is complete.
Attendees may arrive and leave at any time at their leisure, attendees may continue on to a walk, a bike ride, a river ferry trip, a meal, a drive, a drink, an engine overhaul or whatever!

Anything formal along with any “hooning” shall be frowned upon.

“FRENCH CAR OWNERS MONTHLY TYRE KICKING DAY”

* Starting at around 10:30am.

LOCATION*: Newington Reserve business car park at the north western corner of Holker Street and Slough Avenue, Silverwater 2128.
(Sydney Olympic Park area)
(only 300m south of where the French Car Day is held).
(Enter from southern lane of Holker St or from Slough Avenue)

*33degrees 49minutes 53seconds SOUTH - 151degrees 03minutes 08seconds EAST.
*I know the gathering place may not please all, though it is central for most (gives us westies a go), is a sizable well maintained and lawned area that should not be parked out, has amounts of shade, toilets (rough) and under cover awnings for rain, nearby Newington shopping center (within 500m), a nearby river, walks, playgrounds and pushbike tracks for mum and the kids (1km). You may also wish to arrive by ferry (3km) (very pleasant transport).
Note: Any excuse not to attend will be accepted!

If you call in someone will hopefully see you there! :)
