Can i ask a stupid question: Why didn't u just buy a GTi 6 in the first place and save yourself a bit of grief?

why do people put non original motors in any car luca and the answer is because they want to

i for one think he has done a very good job on this conversion and he has got what he wants in a car

so he had a little grief with the ECU but if that's the only thing that was a bug bear then he has had a very easy conversion job

the same could said as to why i would like to put an mi16 engine into a 403 and my answer is it's what i want to do

this bloke already had the car and got the GTi-6 wreck so why not utilise the parts for what he wanted to do with them

Good job wrc, can't wait to see it, have you had a chance to weigh your car, it should be lighter than a normal gti-6 shouldnt it?

I know you put the gti-6 interior into the car aswell so what have you got planned with the old interior? I might be interested in the front seats as mine have cigarette burns from the previous owner and i'm planing to sell my 306 at the start of next year.

Pugrambo, i'll loan you a book called the road less travelled.

Its a good question and the answer is simple.
I had no more plans for the 306 but then this GTi6 came up at Auctions...at first i was gonna buy it and fix it and sell my XR. However after seeing it in person the GTi6 was a wreck....every pane; was damaged and the chassis was bent.

I got the car for a very cheap price....from the start even if i knew the conversion wasn't gonna work i knew i could get my money back just from the parts. Some guy was selling a GTi6 Motor and Gbox for $7K a while ago and the GTi6 cost me alot less than that.

In the end yes its been a pain in the ass but its been fun and hopefully the car will weight a bit less than a N5 GTi6.

Puur-geot no i havent gone to a weight bridge yet dude once the car is all together ill take it to one.

Do u mean Huffer? As in Turbo?

If so not room for a conventional turbo manifold but itll have to be setup like the one TurboPeugeot306 has. Itll mean ECU and battery have to be moved.

The hardest part will be the manifold.

I dunno maybe next year if i have money id like to turbo it but i dont wanna start breaking stuff (driveshafts ect)

That would be tuff.... i'd pay to see that.

I reckon a Garett T3 would do the job nicely... i've been planning a hoofer for my pug for a while but other projects have been getting in the way. I'll get on to it by the time i'm not too old 2 drive it. The other problem is that lack of room there is under the hood...

Would you think of cutting your manifold or would you get some mandrel bent set up happening...

mmmm dunno bout a T3 their design is old and have been used on turbo cars from the 80's plus they are quite laggy. If i did turbo i would want a low boost setup on stock internals.
My friend has a hiflow T3 turbo on his Lancia Delta Integrale 8V and its pretty laggy and seeing as though the Delta only has 6000rpm to play with its got a pretty crap powerband.

I was thinking a Ball Bearing T28 unit from the S15 200SX. Or maybe even a BB T25...something that will spool fast i dont want much lag. Mmmm as for the manifold i have no idea how id set it up id like to have a look at Eccose turbo setups though.

Rollerbaring hoofers are good but far-king expensive....

The Nissan and new WRX's come with rollerbaring set ups and their pretty good.. but there's nothing like a nice bushy...

Is your mates Lancia yellow?

true the Garret GT series are expensive but $1500-2000 is not thar bad for a state of the art turbo.

As for the Delta..no i wish that was his Delta. I met the guy (simon) that owns the one you are thinking about. My friends Delta is not an Evoluzione its a Metallic Black Integrale 8 Valve. It goes pretty good ive also been in a track setup 16V Integrale.

My friends uncle has a Red Evoluzione 1 Delta and its like brand new...still has plastic on the door trim.lol

But yeah i love Deltas the Evo2 has been my dream car since i was a kid and someday i will have one. You guys think a 205gti handles good then you havent been in a Delta these things absolutely hammer and are just as much if not more fun than a 205GTi :)

Lancia head_ban

I was asking coz Simon is a mate of mine and i've been in Deltas since i was a kid in italia... but please don't compare a 205 to a Lancia coz the Lancia is 4 times as much and head and shoulders over the 205.

There's also a Red one and a Maroon on floating round down here too.. they are a very tuff car.

haha lucky bastard that Simon hes got a Mitsu Evo6.5 too :)

Umm my friends dad and uncle own The Italian Job. His dad owns
Red 16V Integrale
Black 16V Integrale

Uncle Owns
Pearl White Evo2
Red Evo1

I think they may also have a few more but i cant remember. There was a Red Evo1 for sale last year that i wanted to buy...its now in sydney and the guy has spent alot of $$$ on it.

Yeah i know i shouldn't compare them...i used to have a 205GTi and i thought nothing could be as much fun to drive as it. After getting a ride in that red one i was wrong. It handles better than the 205 yet has the power to back up its handling i just love the Delta to death :)

Oh have u seen the Red one "AVANTI" Frank owns it he took me for a spin at the Fiat/Lancia day in January :) It boots so hard

Yeah the Lancia is tuff... remember the Stratos?? that this was a beast.

Yeah man.. me too...

nothing has come close 2 the Delta...

the lancia may go and handle well but really it's boxy styling is something i could never handle
they have the styling of a box with pumped guards
the italians have designed much better looking cars than that over the years hence my upset with the box looks of the lancia and the fiat of the 80's
the audi of the same era was a much better looking car even though it was a box shaped car

I guess this is where personal taste comes in but i LOVE the look of the Delta...the normal Integrales are not that great but the Evos look fantastic. I love the buldgig arches and pumped guards. Its agressive styling rather than smooth.

As for the Quattro....that car never did anything for me i think its ugly as compared to the Delta.

You must remember this was 80's styling and the 205 has that boxy look too along with most other hatches at the time..its ok but i think Integrale looks way better.
