After being away from Aussie frogs for 8 years as I moved into the Italian world. I am back and in search of inspiration for my new whip.

It got me thinking 🤔 as to what fellow froggers car history is like. If this thread has been started before, I apologise and am happy for it to be deleted.

At 43 now it made me want to show mine and see others from first car to now.

My list is:
1984 Renaukt 20TS
1989 Ford Laser TX3
1985 Renault Fuego
2001 Peugeot 306 RallyE
1997 Peugeot 406 4cyl auto
2001 Peugeot 306 GTi6
1991 Peugeot 205 Si
2000 Peugeot 406 6cyl manual
2001 Peugeot 306 GTi6
2003 Alfa Romeo 156 GTA
2000 Subaru Outback (current)
2005 Peugeot 206 GTI180 (current)

All of them in some way I regret selling. But I must say the number 1 regret is rhe 205. Bought for 500$, it was a cracker of a car.

1934 flathead Ford V8, heavy steering and no brakes
1953 cussie, easy driver
1954 Standard 10, wouldn't pull the skin off a banana, until it got all sorts of mods, then it wouldn't stop !
Triumph Herald in here somewhere
1968 Triumph 2000MD manual, no performance, but comfortable.
Pug 504 auto and 505 manual, much like the Triumph
Renault R20, went much better after it got a manual box and a head trim.
Fuego, needed to be driven hard, but fun, still here but no incentive to rehabilitate
Renault Latitude, froggie falcon, certainly goes and comfortable as well, a keeper
Falcon BA V8 manual tray, brought to move the belongings to the bush, and did it easy. Collectors item, gone to good home
Renault Kangoo, zero performance but at 50-55mpg who cares... :)

Bob

.... also an MGY and Honda gull-wing in there, about the time of the Triumph 2000, just for fun.... :)

Easy for me .... lets see I had a renault 12 for a couple of years until it got crashed ...

then a CX2400 for a few years (still sits in my backyard) 6 years maybe
then a CX2500 for a few years .... over 20years (still in the shed, it'll probably go back to being a daily driver next year)
then a shitbox range rover for the last ... maybe 8 years.

There is other cars here too.... none have been daily driver duties alone though like the shitbox and rat infested cx though ...

1970 Morris Cooper S Mk11 (fitted initially with a 998 engine - Dad wouldn't let me have the 1275 until I'd been driving for a year!)
1974 Fiat 124 CC
1966 AH Sprite Mk IIIA
1981 Alfa Romeo Giulietta
1984 Honda City (sold the Alfa to fund some travel)

2005 Peugeot 206CC (awful, awful little car - purchased by then girlfriend, now wife)
2007 Golf GTI (DSG gearbox - compromise with wife for something she could drive and I could still enjoy. Great cars)
2009 Golf GTI
2012 BMW X5 E70 (another purchase driven by wife - achievement of a dream for her!)
1992 205 GTI (money not so tight any more - I could have a car again for me to play with)
1993 205 GTI Classic (sold this to make room for 16V project)
2016 BMW X5 F15
1992 205 GTI 16 valve conversion (will never sell)
1960 Jaguar Mk2 3.8 MOD (gradually improving it over time)
2023 BMW X5 G05 LCI (wife still loves them, and they carry a lot of mountain bikes and teenage boys...)

I wonder how good greenpeaces memory is ? I think he'll run the forum out of space :ROFLMAO:
🤣🤣🤣🤣
That's why I haven't posted, plus I'm sure to forget a few.🤔
If I get some spare time I might give it a go.🤷‍♂️

^ My traffic history will probably be as long and convoluted as that

Getting too old now and haven't had anything for about 8 years.

1987 Corolla KE10- 'The Alfa's Kid Brother' was the catchcry for this car, added Head Mod extractors, Cooper S twin SU's on a Lynx manifold, Smith's dash mounted tacho, Neway chrome/black widened wheels.
Datsun 1600- Lukey sports exhaust.
Datsun 180B SSS- Aunger 6" mags, lowered
Datsun 1600 Auto- Wife's car, Twin 180B SSS carbs, creamed most cars of the day off the line.
Datsun 180B Wagon- 200B motor, Twin 180B (Aisan) carbs, Lukey sports exhaust, H/duty suspension to tow a 15' inboard boat.
Renault 16 TS Trak Yellow
Renault 16 TS Avocado, Great car, Reg-IUE840, hope it still exists.
Renault 16 TS Auto- Wife's car
1996 306 N3 XT 4 door manual 8 valve.
1997 306 XR N5 1.8 16V manual.
1998 N5 GTi6- great reliable car. Owned for 16 years
1989 205 Gti. Only 75Kw but such fun
1989 405 Mi16- has slowly morphed into a full blown track car.
EL Falcon Auto- if you want to feel completely disconnected to the road...
2014 Falcon XR6Turbo. The Barra was arguably the best engine to come out of Australia
Current 2021 Porsche Macan GTS. All the DNA of the 911’s in an SUV.

When living in the Channel Islands-

Renault 4- loved the dash mounted gear lever. Used more oil than fuel
Renault 5- slipping clutch honed your gear changes.
Hillman Avenger-sold it for a pint at the pub!

VANS:
1960 small rear window VW Kombi.
Datsun Homer van- was so low geared, you could take off in 3rd.
Holden HD P/van- Jag leather bucket seats, replacement 186 engine from the agitator of a cement mixer.

BIKES:
Kawasaki 350 S2 3 cyl 2 stroke- brisk performance & only drum brakes!
Yamaha RD 350
Maico 400 single- great off road bike & lots of grunt.
Honda 500/4

In too many years of motoring I have kept all but a couple of my cars for over 30 years. All, at whatever age, were beyond repair and sent for wrecking at the end, except the diesel 4WD became an elderly off-road farm runabout despite a dodgy clutch. All were DIY serviced and repaired as needed. Only two were bought new (at very good prices).

The best car (being honest with nostalgia ignored) I've had is the C5. The one that was nicest to be in was a Rover P6 V8, which probably couldn't keep up with the diesel Cit.
