I double echo this, once you taste gti-6 its hard to turn away.
Good luck, Xq

ps, pugrambo you still selling yours? gotta 406 yet?

btw - buget of $20k max, prefer to go $18k
also the fact that i can not modify the car that i get for 1-2years due to insurance companies hating me due to my illustrious 1.5 year driving record.
also would prefer stock stereo as i have my own SQ system ready to be transplanted.
:D thanks to all for the respones, will be keeping an eye on it from holidays.

haven't got a 406 yet
if i sell the car then i will look around for a 406
as much as i love the car it just doesn't have enough room for 2 kids plus the next one that will be here in june/july
the 604 is ok but i am still doing some work to it plus we prefer something a little lighter on fuel than the 604
i'll get around to posting some pics of it later but i do know that 1 owner GTi's are getting fairly rare and most of them are city dwelling cars
this one has lived in the country it's whole life and yet has only enough stone chips that you can count on one hand

I have a 1997 GTi-6 that you'll love in your price range.

It's now 19.5K due to urgency of sale (buying house) however that's as low as I go.

Come and have a look...

and at that price it's a bargain!!!!
i've tried my best talking my mum into it but she's got her eyes on a 206.

Totally agree with Andreas. If I was in the market, I would snap it up in a second. I reckon it is a bargain too.

Cal.

i've been looking for pugs lately and at that price you're lucky to get an XSi or for a bit less an XT or other lower spec model.
cheapest GTi6 was 21K.

while we're talking about selling (sorry to hijack) madpug is selling his modded XSi for mid to high 20's i think.
chameleon respray, avo coilovers, esquiss kit, late spec headlights, very nice car.

If you find a GTi-6 cheaper it's more than likely it's had a BIG hit, or has been thrashed within an inch of it's life.

Someone here must want to look at this... it does NOT look like a 1997 model car, nor does it drive like one.

*Nothing* to spend.

sory guys, can't get anything with mods that insurance can find out about or a GTi-6 because of how much insurance companies love me.

Mine is still available. It's not modified except for brake rotors and better tyres. Not really modifications on the scale of things.

My 306 costs $700 per annum to insure......and I'm in my early 20's, live near redfern, and have an interesting and colourful driving history.

It will probably be traded on a 307 (for my dad) in about 6 weeks. Make me an offer!

It's immaculate, and it will be missed. Selling to invest money in property.

Brendan

These cars are elusive. I'm still looking for a N5 type 306XT. My dad had a look at one in Newcastle for me yesterday but it was a rust bucket. Knew there had to be something major wrong with it for only $13K.

This ad was in the Canberra Times last Saturday. I think that they actually mean 306 S16.

Rust on an N5??

Wow, that sounds pretty surprising.

Renweave - where are you looking? I've seen a fair few N5 XT's in the weekend SMH.

What are you looking for specifically?
