I might be tempted to part with my 16v early if pushed, I might be getting a car through work sooner rather than later.

1070 kg's, freshy rebuilt motor, fresh suspension, sticky tyres.....you know it makes sense :)

Well I know it isn't a Citroen But I don't think you could go past a Renalt Alpine GTA Turbo :headbang: 14 second 1/4 stock :D

They have a 2. somthing V6 turbo that can be increased to 3ltr easily with a BB turbo, Cooler, Injecters and a Motec you will be sucking the doors off everything

Rear mount engine to. :D

I've seen one in Melbourne for about $30K at Alpine Affair. 03 9879 1961 A guy from Qld bought one recently instead of a 930 Turbo.

I'll have photos soon. worth a look.

????

So does anyone know any French (Citroen preferably) specialists in the Sydney area, who i could get in contact with, in regards to handling this project?

I'd suggest you PM Macquered as he can name a couple he's dealt with that would create all kinds of rows if their names are mentioned on an open forum.
It may pay to also have a word with PeterT offlist for a bit of advice also.

I'm sure PeterT could point you in the right direction as far as 16V engines and LSD's etc are concerned. Also last time i was at DS motors up here in brissie i saw sitting in a box the set of motorsport spheres that are adjustable by different shims. Then i suppose you would be looking at thicker swaybars etc.

Dave

Hey! Could you tell me more about motorsport spheres. Friend of mine is having a interesting BX 16V project (with rollcage, stripped out interior and so on) and those kind of spheres could be more than welcome for track use.

Just an update. I'm purchasing a BX 16-Valve from a friend, basically it's _only_ done 120,000kms.

Just wondering, do you suggest working on the body first or engine? I've already ordered a body kit from Cituning.

Also any idea on a garage in Sydney who can handle tuning the BX?

(Hardening spheres, engine mods etc..)

Would take a good carefull look over the engine first. See that it has had the timing belt replaced at the correct interval and that the water pump was replaced, hoses at the rear of the engine are ok and do a compression check. Then you'll know what you've got and that it's reasonable sound.

Contact PeterT on this board re advise of engine and performance mods. The handling of a stock BX16V is pretty spectacular as standard (asuming the suspension system has been regularly serviced). If you go for engine mods to around 200bhp you may want to then look into a LSD.

Chris.

Thanks for the run down, i'll send Peter a private message.

There may be other modifications you have to make it comply with australian laws when the car arrives.

There are huge costs involved otherwise more cars would be coming in....
