Sydney Cruise

Justin,

I think I posted a message in reply to Nick after your last drive that I'd love to do the Great Ocean Road with you guys - Nick suggested it as a possible option for next time.

If I have say 1-2 weeks notice I'd love to join all you guys. Of course, I'd bring my pile of stickers :D

Any time other than January 18 - 25th I should be able to do :)

Derek.

Why not Old Pacific Hwy to Peats Ridge, then onto Wollombi Tavern for lunch. Return via St. Albans, Wisemans Ferry. It's a fantastic drive.

I agree PeterT - that would be a great route.

During the weekend the Old Pac can get pretty busy though. It still should be fun though.

we just leave earlier :) For those golfers, we could then get a round in at Riverside Oaks :)

Sounds great. I've been wanting to try that road for a while.

Dave

I will go on the next run because my car is totally back to normal now. Sorry I didnt get to come along to the last one meeting at the rock.

Name a place and time please?

My suggestion is we meet somewhere close to the start, not at Granville mallet

I guess for the Old Pacific Hwy that'd mean Hornsby or something.

Derek.

I might be being a bit blonde again but what is the date and time of this event again?
(once more for the dummies)

Im in, all sound excelent, EXCEPT DIRT, im riding on 17" and lowered.
1st or 2nd week of JAN. IM excited like big kev with a possum down his pants. lol. please consider fuel as i need 98 ron stuff, ie SHELL or BP.

ps Were's all the CIT/REN guys, im duying to see a nice D, clio sport or anything froggy!!!!!!!!!!

Best place to meet is the old toll booths (for those old enough to remember). Just head north, through Mt Colah on the old Hwy. You can't miss them.

You guy's could head west as an alternative. Bells Line to lithgow. Then head west toward Bathurst, turning off and going to Tarana. A squash at the Tarana pub and then across to Oberon. From Oberon to Bathurst and a quick (60kph) lap around the mount.
From Bathurst through Sofala to Ilford and then onto Lithgow and back to Sydney.
Probably about 300 - 400 k's, maybe a bit more. Some good winding roads, although some are a bit narrow and rough. There are good fuel stops and plenty of amenities along the way.
There are some wallopers on the roads (but that doesn't matter as nobody speeds any more). roll_lau roll_lau
Just one more option for you guy's.

cheers!

I actually did the Syd-Bateman's Bay-Braidwood-Goulburn-Sydney run on Friday in my car with one of my mates driving. He's looking at different European cars and I said he could take mine for a drive and suggested we do that route.

It's 730km starting and finishing at Coogee.

Bit long for a day trip! Not bad on 50.5L Optimax though :) Very nice drive, and the run up from Bateman's Bay to Braidwood is a good fun windy bit of road, although a bit bumpy.

I'd be up for meeting at the old toll booths, although if people would prefer Bells Line, that's all good too.

Derek.

if the drive came west we would probably be able to head over to bathurst for a chin wag
might even be able to talk mum into taking her 206 along as well
all depends on when though
can be hard at times getting away when running a business here

!>>> since were all hard drinking/caroling/xmassing!, when do we think of a final date, the west to Bathurst run sounds a little long.
But you all know well have 'bout 30 other suggestions before we settle.
Either way my 306 is ready, fresh from service, new EBC discs and pads allround, Eibach Pro-springs and tortion reset!baby! feels wicked in the Sparco!lol. head_ban

cheers xqisid

It's possible to get from Wollombi to Wiseman's Ferry without going on the dirt via St Albans. However, you'd miss a great drive and a drink at St Albans.
