Sydney Cruise NEW POLL

Xq,

I'll be bringing my digicam. I'm generally pretty snap happy with it :D

I will be there with the C3, and the entire bundle of stickers from work are already in the glovebox :)

Derek.

Is that McDonalds on the freeway after you get off parramatta rd? Its like halfway up the mountains or something?
Ill be there in my R19 but you will all have to keep the speed down as Ill not be able to kep-up. But the trip to the Lithgow will be a good run....

The Maccas at Eastern Creek are the only ones on the M4. Its on the side heading towards the mountains.

The Suburb is Eastern Creek.

It's UBD Map 188 C15

It is 2.8km west of Prospect Hwy, on the M4 motorway. I just did a delivery out Penrith way so checked it. It's the Service Centre signposted, and has a Caltex servo there too.

Derek

Don't worry Lincoln, neither do I !!!

There are other service stations (eg Shell) further up the Great Western Hwy. We will be stopping there for fuel.

So if everyone can have enough fuel to go the length of the M4 to the beginning of the mountains we will be refuelling there.

Darren :)

hehe, I was just being silly. I wouldn't mind trying some Mobil fuel to see if there's any difference over Optimax. I've noticed performance improvements with Optimax from stations ot of Sydney (Marulan), and get iffy response from local suppliers. But anyway.

Most important, I just reached 400 posts!!! I think I spend too much time in here...and not much of what I say is very useful :p head_ban a_drink cheers!

count me in. Never driven those roads before so looking forward to it. Hope the rain forecast is wrong though..

Well I'm worse... 593 posts!

The C3 manual says it requires 98 octane fuel which counts Caltex out as Caltex Vortex Gold is only 95 :p

Can't imagine there'd be too many 1.4's out there in Australia that *demand* 98! It says it will run on 95 if that is all that is available *gasp*

Derek.

I'm just wondering, will there be any DSs or SMs coming along?

I'll carry a digital camera along as well.

What's the compression ratio on the C3? Unless it's very high, I don't think there'll be much of a problem running it on 95. Modern engines have knock sensors and enough wizardry in them. The PSA 1.4's output isn't particularly high, so I have my reservations as to whether it'd make the best out of the 98 RON.

The 307 1.6 has a 11.0 compression ratio, which quite high for a petrol engine - it once had to run on a few litres of 91RON (very few) with absolutely no problem whatsoever. In fact when I got the car, I was advised that 91RON was no problem, but it's best to use 95. It's run on 98 for most of it's life, giving better fuel economy.

The car will be very fine I'm sure on 95!
