That cold idle speed can be adjusted down a bit at the carbie. There's a link on a rod that can be moved (a fraction of a mm).Now they could make a slow get away in first gear!
After letting it warm up completely for 10 minutes. Then, and only then the idle will drop low enough to get it in gear..
To slow a rpm is fine, but just a squeak too high and it will grind in protest...

For the USA on the R10 there is an additional 'fast idle' system to pass Federal emissions, on a manual it is controlled by a rpm switch, for this T.124 auto it's controlled by the correct sequence of inputs from the governor.That cold idle speed can be adjusted down a bit at the carbie.
