PRV Bearings - Durability

I'm going to see if there's any 10/40 left.

Agree wholeheartedly with the 5/30 synth for Roger's ES9. It likely needs the covers re-sealing anyway.

Thanks both of you. I support Magnatec 10W-40 for PRV. And I'll see if there is any Edge 5W-30 for my ES9J4.

Addo, by "covers resealing" do you mean replacing rocker cover gaskets?

David, I'll PM you.

Roger

The filters are the same for PRV and ES9 XM - 1109S8 (marked Purflux LS880A), currently 1109AK.

I've been using LS867B on the PRV, because they fit and I always have a box of them.

Repco were selling the oil fast at Northmead, I bought one of very few three-packs left on the floor. Intervened when they were busily recommending a fellow with C4 1.6 diesel buy the 10/40 "because it's over 100 000 kilometres" and made sure they led him to the low ash synths.

I got 4 Edges at the Warrnambool store. Only a few left. They had only one pack of Magnatec left.

The reason the Edge saving is less than the other packs is because it is already discounted in their catalogue sale. Normally $69.

Last question before I give Addo his thread back. What's the oil fill volume for ES9J4?

Roger

5.25l with filter apparently. 2l between low and high marks on the dipstick.
