The rules do not allow a support crew. There are sweep mechanics that will help you repair the car, but only the stuff you cannot do yourself. This rally is all about self reliance. All repairs not done roadside or at night, are done at local garages, especially during rest days. They did not have any mechanical problems, the engine ran extremely well. They had a scare the day before the finish in Reims, after all the timed sections were finished when the water pump bearing seized. They replaced the water pump and finished the rally.
