Latitude Hints, Tips and Problems

It might be economic to get a 'local' brake specialist or hydraulic hose repair to look at your leaky hose. There are mobile hydraulic crowds as well who service machinery on site.

here's some of the Koleos manual, see page 38, oil description suggests it could be Dextron II ? Megane manual is similar.

Thanks for your reply Bob. However, I did manage to find the part number on partsouq.com. BUT, now that I have the part, the mechanic wants me to take it to him (not the car, just the part - cost me ~$700…) and I feel, because I’ve been messed around so much, VERY uneasy about why he would ask this. I have verified with another Renault dealer that I do have the correct part (not an easy task, had to use all my charm). Do you have any idea why a mechanic (who says he has all the diagrams and such, and to whom I’ve sent a screenshot of the part taken from partsouq - he agreed it was the right part) would need to have the part in his possession before agreeing to fit it?

secret men's business.... :)
Parts databases are not infallible, he might want to double check your selection - but by comparison with what's there now I would have thought, so he'd need the car as well.
His hoist time allocation might be that tight that he can't afford to book you in only to find that the hose isn't right ? Expensive bit of hose....
