Half-cuts from France - who wants what?

I've sent various car details from here to my friend, and am awaiting a response.

Regards,
John Lane.

Don't I count, apparently the last reply is not by me?
:) Actually, he's gone quiet on me. I'll sent him a link to this thread and remind him that he PROMISED to do this. :)

Cheers,
John.

daniel the r12 nut:
how about a 5 alpine motor would be could go well into the 12 lol nah thats serious so maybe 5 alpine motor non turbo be good or a good early r 12 thanks
Daniel, last time I checked out Mecaparts www.mecaparts.com they were advertising used 5 Alpine motors suitable for rebuilding for not a lot of euros. If you are serious they could be worth a go. A cheaper option in terms of freight could be to prise a complete head out of them and
then build your own Alpine motor around a standard 1.4. Just a thought.

I think you could just about post a complete head.(ie: head, valve gear, rocker cover and pushrods)

If you ever get stuck for the right French word to describe various bits of pieces then try this site: http://www.granddictionnaire.com

cheers!

Any news John?
Not yet, but my contact told me last week he should be onto the info-gathering exercise this week, so fingers crossed. He is building his own house and working as well, so he's been a little busy. He _has_ managed to complete several rooms since this thread started, which doesn't help _us_ but it makes him feel less bad about the situation. :)

Cheers,
John.

Before you start getting too excited about shipping big bits, check out courier costs so you know what you're up for.
