The latest from my sister is that it's only $130 per cubic metre by ship from London, plus a few hundred dollars port charges at each end, so less than $1000 should do it from the UK, although if you were importing a 20 foot container with a car in it, you could stack plenty of gearboxes around it.Europa:

But apparently they are cheap in the US where they were fitted to the unloved Eagle Medallion.
They are big and heavy buggers to post, although I suppose you could split them into component parts...
Cost from the US can often be more than this, because parts are sometimes located quite a ways inland and so there's the sometimes considerable cost of trucking them to port. So if you get stuff from the US it's an idea to get it from a port city (San Francisco, LA, etc).
