Another R17 owner planning to upgrade

Shoji, consider putting some stick on insulation on the firewall and floor. I didn’t bother and just carpeted the area but now get quite a bit of heat through. On the list of jobs to pull it out and add some insulation.

Good idea. The stick on bitumen type with a soft aluminium outer is very good. It is partly about adding weight to the panel to change resonant frequencies too.

That black sheeting under the dash is just that. I have so much stuff here. Underfelt, sound deadener and black felt. Some stuff GekoEng gave me might get used too.

Ooooooh I like those seat rail guides? My 12 didn't have them, would have probably saved the floor from cracking. Assuming the adjustable rail and seat just plonks on top? Noice!

Bowie, they were just made on the fly when I bought those seats a few years back. I have them on the car to look how I can make them look fancy. And I have been getting pricing on recovering the seats as they look a bit faded. The fabric covers will have orange in them and maybe some logo

Go to Millanes...

Ah seeing that front section back together (minus those forward facing rods) kicking goals! How great to have that spring back in there and everything fresh. Nice feeling :D

After the quick pics, I popped those in Bowie. It's rolling so now I can concentrate on the the body again.

More fun photos. The hatch has come back from sandblaster and I treated the metal with wire wheel and rust converter. It leaves a nice surface for the zinc rich paint.
Out of interest, does everyone see these pics in a full view or smaller? They load up quite nice in size.

I see the pics in full view John, exactly like the ones I have uploaded on my resto thread.

Is that an Australian issue?? The UK 17 models were R1313, 1317, 1318 plus 23,27,28
I have the P.R.1002 which covers R1313-R1317-R1323-R1327 Renault 17TS 1972 to 1974

I don't think there was an Australian issue for the R17 as, as far as I know they were all imported and never assembled here in Australia. So no doubt we got the models that were destined for the right hand drive market.
