407 multimedia

The radio in my 407 has started playing up and I was wondering if anyone has fitted an aftermarket multimedia system to their car . They say that they are plug and play but does everything function properly and did you have to update the cars system so that it knows that the radio has been changed .

I fitted a Pioneer AVH-Z7150BT unit in my 407 Coupe a few years back. This has a retractable screen and fits in the existing space in the dash. It has Apple CarPlay- which I needed- and (probably) Android as well. An adapter was also required to retain the steering stalk controls. There were a few quirks to get it working correctly, so I'd suggest professional installation. I did mine myself, but I had access to professional assistance! (I think the model has since been updated to AVH-Z7250BT...check the Pioneer Australia web site)

PSA car radios

Has anyone succesfully fitted a head unit that works ok to a modern PSA vehicle....... er, actually, "older" PSA vehicle (modern compared to my cars). the C2 has a crap radio, and the 407 had no rear sensors and a screen that disappears when warm. I'm thinking especialy for the C2 ... a head...
