I wheeled the 308 into the dealer with a "UREA" message. Their computer said the adblue unit needed to be replaced, and they had to order it in. The car has 46,000 and so out of warranty.

I picked the car up yesterday and was presented with a bill for about $3,300.

I am staggered at the cost of this thing, and if I had have known, I would have sought a second hand one. (A mate recently wrote his same model off, so I know there is one to be had).

Has anyone else had similar failures?

What year model got a vin

They should have given you pre-warning when it's potentially a bill of that magnitude. I wonder if they're losing repair business from people buying parts online after getting the dealer sticker shock, so they don't tell you unless you ask.

What on earth did they do? Adblue is cheaper than petrol. You can get it at servos in bulk and in containers at parts places.

The box is a common failure but any way Brodie pls send me your vin asap
It was ordered in so I assume it was quoted

Personally i'd be pursuing Peugeot Citroen Australia for your rights under the Australian Consumer law.

I haven't touched a 308 for a few years now, but as dmccurtayne stated it was a known fault. How long should an adblue tank/pump assembly last? Personally I think it should be somewhere around the life of the vehicle. If you have to replace a $3k part every few years, its not really fit for purpose.

To not get a call prior to going ahead is pretty outrageous.

The modified part is fine now and the accc thing isn’t needed

No that’s a eolys box but this issue has been attended to by psa already I wouldn’t by one of ebay it’s probably one that has been replaced under warranty or is the early one anyway

Yeah, I wasn't suggesting buying it, just wanted to know what was replaced for $3K!

Brodie, I think dmc is trying to assist you...
