308 T9 adblue unit price shock

there was a recall for the adblue pump. Was this recall carried out on your car? If not, I'd ask about it.

I believe it's a 2015 registered car - at the time Peugeot Australia only offered a 3yr, 100,000km warranty (whichever comes first) for passenger vehicles.

I’m pretty sure the ACCC would have an opinion on it’s ‘fit for service’ outcome.
Even VW, after horrendous exposure, has now been much more forthcoming with out of (3 year) warranty ‘good grace’ payments.
All vehicles have a 10 year minimum ‘design life’ and the three year applicable period is only a minimum.

I take it that he’s being looked after.

Nice for all if this can be sorted in typical Aussiefrog's fashion, without too much fuss as it does seem an unusual impost.

Hope to see a good practical result.

Ken

The fix is in, I hope.

A load of semi-retirees arguing about health issues and climate change isn't going to fix this one, Ken.

I'm shocked Stuey, shocked that you would even suggest such a thing :D:roflmao:

Good news!

It turns out this is a high failure unit and Peugeot France has extended the warranty to 5 years on this unit.

Many thanks to people on this forum for advice, that led to a happy outcome.

Good to hear Brodie got the right result! I was even luckier in that the dealership I bought my car from went in to bat for me and I had the same ending.

A very pleasant change from some of the horror stories I could tell about past experiences with other dealerships.

Heard Toby Hagon on the radio recently saying that Peugeot wants to improve its after sales service.

I think a good start would be for Peugeot to review its eye watering prices on spares. I understand the fear of the lack of availability and cost of parts is a major contributor to poor resale value on French cars. Maybe reducing parts prices they could make more profit selling more cars and having more to service instead stinging their loyal repeat customers who must form the bulk of active members on this forum.

When the alternator needed replacing on my 405 some years ago a Peugeot specialist mechanic told me he could install either a Valeo one or a Peugeot one. When I asked what the difference was he said the Valeo one came in a Valeo box and the Peugeot one was the same Valeo alternator but in a Peugeot box. He said the difference in price was around $500.

Years later in country NSW when the alternator failed again the so-called sealed unit was repaired with the BMW and Toyota parts the local auto electrician had on hand for about half the price of the Peugeot cardboard box.

The adblue box is covered out of warranty by direction of peugeot France and has nothing to do with the dealer if the dealer tells you that they are lying.

Hello All,
I have a MY2019 3008GT with 25000k's on it. It is a great car. But recently I was speaking to our Peugeot specialist mechanic in Brisbane as I picked up our 2012 508GT and we got on the topic of whether the keep or sell the 3008GT. He mentioned that the AdBlue pump and assembly has a high failure rate and can cost $6K to replace. After I picked myself up off the floor, we discussed this further and he showed me the part on the shelf. The car is now nearly 3 years old, and I am now seriously considering selling it for concern of a massive bill turning up. Has anyone on this forum had any experience with the 3008GT and this component or has an opinion on the failures of this model that I should be aware of.

I had an ad blue tank replaced just over 2 years ago under warranty but the warning lights have come on again. I booked it into the dealership 1 month ago and after waiting for 7 hours in and around the dealership, I was told it wasn't covered under warranty. In disgust I drove it back home 250 ks away and now I have to bring it back so they can finish the diagnostic process before making a decision. Peugeot head office eventually answered no calls and were supposed to have a meeting over a decision. If these tanks have a 5 year warranty, shouldn't they know this ? I'm still spewing about the lack of customer service to a country customer and the fact there was no loan car for me which had been booked in ?

Hey Robey,
Just checking, so you are referring to a 3008GT? If so, what year model is yours? Our has a 5 year warranty from factory, so I have decided there is no huge urgency to sell it as I should have till 2024 if one of these adblue pumps fails. With that said, are you saying your having issues with coverage under warranty ? I cannot understand how a part that is obviously not worth more than a few hundred dollars can become $6000 in Australia. It is very disappointing, the car is great. But this sort of cost for what is a wear and tear item makes the car almost a throw away item at 5 years old.
