Not sure, but I don't think this fits in the restoration build section - so it's here.

It is about time this thread starts as I am sitting in an airport, Montreal, about to meet half - maybe a third - of my new project tomorrow. I'm taking the chance at the end of a work trip were I would normally just be commuting home to personally pack my shipping crate in Devon, UK. Buy a few extra bits and drop the crate at the shipping depot.

I really appreciate the help from this forum so far regarding an engine build. All of those parts have arrived, the engine build starts in December.

A donor 205 was acquired from South Australia.

But I'm most excited because when I land in London I go visit Colin at Satchell Engineering and also Tony Palfrey at Maxi Motorsport. I ordered parts from them in June, and they are now ready. This will be the beginning of my 205 F2000 Maxi project.

If there is interest I'll keep this updated. I am excited, this is what I have wanted to do for a while - even if it won't be for everyone.

There's a fair amount of coin in that parcel! Some questions, if you don't mind:

1. What are you doing for top mounts? You need to lay the centre back a fair distance, in order to get enough castor. If you have a look at pics of my car you'll get the idea.

2. What driveshafts are you using?

3. Those rear hubs look interesting. Do they provide a "bolt on" castor & camber solution?

I have a set of Eccentric Strut Top Mounts and we'll be strengthening the mount area.

Using 306 inner shaft, and a custom outer shaft from Satchell to suit the 406 hub. Will be rebuilt with new CV and boots.

Having not used the hubs i couldn't tell you, only that they were the recommended Satchell solution.

Engine tear down starts over the xmas break, then away for cleaning and in January this haul of goodies will start to be reassembled.

Well things are very much progressed from these last photos. The 306 has been recycled like a tin can. The 205 is just a shell to be sand blasted, the box has arrived from the UK, and the engine block prep and lots of port and polish on the head is nearly complete.

And this arrived this week.

Who makes that kit? Windage tray inside?

It looks much better than the pace dry sumps with the stupid rubber tube & hoseclamp joins. They all leak.

I wonder if there is a dry sump setup where the pump stays inside
the original sump, keeping away from flying rocks and things?

No Pace installation is complete without a 1000x600 drip tray. I was going to suggest they add it to the kit.
