I just found this on Ebay in the uk!
<a href="http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1738747166" target="_blank">http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1738747166</a>

£30 !!

There is that "slight" problem of getting it transported!
Perhaps it could be dismantled and Bob Smith could bring it over in his suitcase! wink

Seriously though, its now very rare to see a 505 at all in the UK, and I was struck what a lot of car that it was for £30gbp, thats why I made the posting. Amazing what you can get on Ebay!

I think it might be stock, since I'm pretty sure the GTI had a better gear knob than that funny shaped thing.

I was talking to a US 505 enthusiast via email and he says that the Series 1 had a square-ish shaped knob, while the series 2 is round-ish. I guess he means the late series 1, because as you know most series 1 gearknobs are anything but square-ish. He also says that the series 2 gearshift mechanism is the same -pity.
