I'm putting together a 1.6 205 engine at the moment. The first set of main bearings had only 2 shells with the groove. OK, I thought, these are probably only really needed on the intermediate mains. When I came to install them though I noticed that the shells on the caps have the tab in a different spot to the ones with the groove, so the ones without the groove won't go into the block. I luckily had another set of bearings, Glyco, but then found one too many grooved shells! So now I was looking for another shell without the groove. Managed to use one from the original set of course! So there you go, two bearing sets that were unusable.
