Any froggers with expertise in rebuilding worm drives - there is a thrust washer behind each sun gear in the diff. The part number is 3115.06 and it is a Celoron washer 35x52x1.5mm (Celoron is a type of reinforced bakelite). These don't seem to be available anywhere so I'm wondering if another material can substitute - nylon or brass perhaps? I found a Citroen specialist in France (Jose Franssen) who has several sizes of Celoron washers, bur not the right one.

local and sympathetic engineering shop should be able to turn up silver bronze, or other sort of alloy.
If its an internal application, my mind is to apply later tech where and when needed. 'Celeron' is interesting but old tech.

The fabric re-enforced bakelite sheet is still available. Tufnol is one of its trade names.
I've attached an image off EBay of a listing that has Australian stock. It is already 1.5mm thick, just find a company with a waterjet cutter and they will knock them out for you no problem.

I'm going to buy a bakelite sheet as above and make some washers - will let you know how I get on. I'm in Sydney but sometimes visit family in Canberra.

Back in the day it was phosphor bronze that was the material used to replace the original thrust washers particularly for modified cars or competition cars. This material is what is used in later hypoid diffs from factory.

I've bought a reinforced bakelite sheet (thanks for the suggestion Greenpeace) and have cut some washers using hole saws - turned out OK. Certainly gets rid of the slop in the differential gears. I am also investigating the phosphor bronze option. The supply of new worm and wheel sets from Europe seems to be drying up (plus they are bloody expensive) so the only real option to improve your diff is to replace these washers and the four bearings. The bearings are regular sizes and can be sourced locally.

The Traction Avant gearbox is also full of these celeron washers. I couldn't find them either for sale. You can sand glue together and sand down used celeron washers to get the required thickness though :)

Let me know if you need any more. I am having good success with cutting them from reinforced bakelite sheet using hole saws.

These are the ones I have made from reinforced bakelite sheet - 35x52x1.5mm. If you want a pair PM me - $7.00 posted.
