Just bought a 1972 504 which has Cosmic
Mag wheels. One front wheel must have come loose and damaged the wheel studs and the nuts have been damaged screwing them onto the studs.
The nuts are unusual which have a taper and then a wide collar just before the normal 19mm castellation.
None of the tyre and mag wheel places haven’t seen this type. Does anyone recognise this type?

Pretty sure Comics from that era have metal inserts and are designed so that you can use standard wheel nuts.

The wheel nut that you have pictured looks like its from a Renault Virage (which is just a later R12)

Hope this helps a little

If you want a more dressier type nut check the Nissan range. Same dia. and pitch.

Thanks guys - any idea what model of Nissan? Went to Nissan and they couldn’t help me without a model.

As Col said there Renault 12 wheel nuts, nothing special, surely someone will have some on here for you

Guys, I took a wheel to Promac in Cardiff and they said the sample nut was the wrong type as it wouldn’t engage on the taper due to its short length and only the collar would contact the wheel and this would allow the wheel to move around.
So went to Auto One in Warner’s Bay and got a set of nuts that just have a normal taper and no collar.
