Which is exactly the reason that men die well before women on average. But boy do we have all the fun..
Lots of V8 "pusher" cars in the video.
Some of those car's last goodbyes would have been immediately proceeded by the fastest acceleration in their life.

In some of those clips you see the driver raise both hands to brace against the roof. I wanna see the next couple minutes of film where he steps out and waves to the spectators.
Try a couple of more mad Frenchmen from quite some years back !. I remember reading about that long run on two wheels when I was a boy ! 
Plenty of French cars, then junk, now desirble, being destroyed for provincial entertainment.
