Traction rear crankshaft seal

Hi All,
Is it wise to join the rubber split seal for the rear crankshaft with a little sealant or rubber adhesive (or maybe Superglue?) before installation? Makes sense to use something to close it up but not sure. Would apppreciate any help. Thanks,

If I remember correctly when Peter Larson of CTA Sweden (RIP) sold these split seals the recommendation was to use the supplied adhesive to join the seal ends.
