Bristol/England!
It was a lovely event here at the birthplace of William Shakespear this weekend, nice weather, and a fantastic collection of cars. We had probably the largest gathering of Citroen Visa cars and their C15 van cousins, for many years. The more unusual of which were a factory built C15 6 wheeler (no, not a conversion!!!) and a home made C15, with a BX 16v engine, and hydraulic rear end. there were 3 LNA cars there too!
We had Lots of DS's, 4 SM cars, 2 BX 4x4's (very rare now, as they were a disaster), 6 Traction Avant including a familiale (very long wheelbase, never seen one of these before) a 1932 C4 (rear wheel drive, not like uga boga's) Lots of CX's and BX's, 5 Xantia activa's a totally pimped XM 3.0 24v (black windows, furry dice, leopard skin seat covers, chrome wheels.....yuk!)
It was fun catching up with Pat and Helmut again, and even tim2cv was there in his CX turbo, just to make me jelous! I will post some pics tomorrow.
Pretty good to have 4 aussie froggers, at an english event! john s

The pics!!!

These show the very unusual C15 6 wheeler. You can actually order one of these from citroen uk!!! Next, is a Visa GTi, but with a BX 16v engine, and finally, a citroen garage specialising in DS, and SM rebuilds, BL motors of bedford, company C15 van, with the 16v engine and BX rear suspension! The guy who built this van, tells me it will out handle a BX, and is good for 205kph!!!!!

Next we have some of the more unusual BXs.
First, a VERY rare BX van. I knew citroen did them, but until now had never actually seen one! the other 2 shots show a pair of the 30 or so BX 4x4 cars left in this country.

Here is a H van actually earning its keep. The fresh pizzas were exellent!
Then we have a Mehari, that joined our evening booze up, and finally in this segment, where else would you see this many Citroen SM cars?

Here, we have Tim2cv's CX turbo, with my 22TRS. They look good together.
Lots of CX wagons here, I like one myself! And, a fairly original 2cv4, 375cc, with speedo driven windscreen wipers?

Old timers too!
First is a rather more interesting C4, than we are currently offered, next is a Traction Avant, but I have no idea about these! and finally a Traction Avant Familiale, (very long wheelbase) Rust is starting to bubble through the doors a bit, but it still looks nice!

And finally.....

This Traction was the concours winner. You will not see a cleaner example, Even under the wings, are totally spotless!
It's probably very rude of me, but this totally pimped XM 3.0v6 is the ugliest car at the show! On the bonnet, there is a huge air intake, the paint is totally flat, but the wheels look good!

Here's are some images for all the A-Series fans. First, a of a lovely example of an Ami 8 Break that was at the show. It really was like brand new all over. Amis dont appear at the shows as much as they used to and so it was especially nice to see it there. And the 3rd image is of an Arcadiane that was for sale. (Now becoming a rare site itself)

It was a nice weekend at Stratford with nice weather to match.

How about this then?

A recent meeting of Aussie SMs. I think you will find there are 15 in this photo, which all gathered in Albury for their first annual meeting. There are more SMs - not all owners were able to make the commitment for the weekend. There were in fact 19 SMs there.

Ok, you win Craig!! But then, that was a specialist SM event, whereas this was a more general Citroen affair. john s
