The Motorsport Australia - Shannons Speed Series - incorporating TCR, Trans Am and other categories, kicks off the 2024 season at Sandown Park this weekend, 9 - 11 Feb.
Big change for this year - each event is covered on Free to Air TV on the Seven network - no excuses.
So spread the word, and let's try to get this second-level series up there where it belongs.
Another big change is that Motorsport Australia has revived the Aust Manufacturers Championship, last run in 2015, allocating it to the TCR competition, good move.
I might add, having attended several of these events, that if you are at all interested in motorsport, then these events are worth attending in person when one is in your area. Not expensive, freedom to walk through the pits and actually talk to competitors, good range of categories. My opinion is it feels like going to a decent event 40 years ago, before the full-on commercialisation of the V8 events.
Tickets are: Friday - free entry, including pit pass, Saturday or Sunday $35, or 3 day weekend pass $60 - each includes pit pass. (Prices may be for online purchase prior to event).
I believe the grid walks for main events are to be free to anybody to take part, as they were at Sydney & Bathurst last November, and these were very popular with spectators getting to walk up the grid amongst the cars formed up just prior to the race.
WATCH LIVE ON 7PLUS/7MATE
Race Sandown is available to watch live and free on 7plus and 7mate throughout the weekend.

7plus: 9:55am – 3:40pm
7mate: 12:30pm – 2:30pm
