sorry to be completly un-helpful here..
but from what i have gathered form the combined interlect here the exhaust system on the STI is very .. very well designed..
i vaguly rember asking a similar question some time ago and like the suspension componetes of the STI.. they told me id be better of saving my money and leaving them alone..

This may not be true.
Look at the posts about the power difference between LHD and RHD STI/GTIs (might have just been GTIs), apparently attributable to the nice extractors on the LHD GTIs, which didn't fit around the steering rack on the RHD models.
This might mean you can't get them made up to fit either, but you never know (nothing's impossible, just expensive.)
(From the headers back, though, the GTI/STI exhaust always seemed pretty non-restrictive, though!)

that would explain things...
i thought it was just due to the octane differences in the petrol they can get their hands on.. Is there much a difference between here and Europe.. ? octane in petrol wise????
