Dear @,
I am a proud owner of a 1994 Phase II Renault 19RT with a 1723 cc F3N engine.
Right now I am looking for a replacement starter motor for this car; can any one help?!
The car is in a showroom state, yet I cannot drive it.
Best regs,
Wojtek M

A common fault with these starters was that the outer magnets were epoxy glued to the outer case. The glue gave way and the magnet moved and jambed the armature or at least became no longer effective. They can often be removed and reglued in place and the starter will work. Assuming mine was the same as yours the starters are a real b@#$%r to change. First one took me 3 hours by the third I was down to 30 minutes. The trick is finding the bolts by feel and then knowing what size spanner/socket etc to use. May be a hoist would help but I never had one at that time. Good luck with it.
