My wife's 505 turbo intercoller got hot a few times seems to still run o.k. (but not great) I am replacing the raditor due to a split dowm the tank where it was crimped to the core , are these 505 a little forgiving
or should I be treding it off ????

The turbo gasoline 505 was never sold in Australia (turbo gets in the way of the steering column shaft), so I don't know how forgiving those 2155cc engines are.

I think he'll mean a turbo diesel.

As long as you haven't fried the headgasket and warped the head, I think of any damage that would happen. Diesels are usualy pretty indestructable.

With 20:1 compression, I would think the radiator should soon have bubbles showing if it's got a blown gasket. The diesel engine I have was overheated just once (I don't know how badly) and needed a shave.

Omaha... yeah, a furrener...

Well, checking for bubbles in the rad with the motor running is a good start. If there are constant bubbles (not just an occasional one) then you might be looking for some repairs.
