As promised in a post at/near the bottom of the "Targa Tasmania 04"
thread, I'm posting some pics of the Renault Owners of North America's
contingent at Road America last Sept.

ops, pics too big -- so I've placed them at

http://reality.sgiweb.org/mg/ELVF/elvf.html

I'm back there again next weekend 15/16 May if the Renaults are back
I'll be sure to get some more pics.

BTW, according to the owner, the A110 is the one and only factory
Le Mans car.

Thanks for posting those. That A110 is awesome.

Would love to have an A110 in the garage, used to see a blue one (i think alpine affair had something to do with it) at hill climbs at rob roy, a beautifully little car!
A310V6 would i have seen your car at the French car day?? If so it looked like you had plenty of rubber on the road, do you compete??

That would be John Hardy's car. I think it lives at Alpine Affaire!
I'd really love a 110, but too many $$$ and just a little too
fragile.

Yes, my car was at the FCD. It has the Group 4 kit so it has lots of
rubber (15x8" and 15x10" rims). Unfortunately it is not *good* rubber
since nothing decent is available in that size. So I have custom 17"
competition wheels in the pipeline (with 150mm x 3 stud bolt pattern)and some adaptors (3 stud to 5 stud) for 17" road wheels.

Given the really terrible tyres on there now the handling and grip is
impressive. Can't wait to get decent stuff...

Well, It was a gorgeous weekend at Road America. The car I crewed for
came 2nd after a good dice, and I got to do more laps during the
lunch break - this time in a 225HP Austin Healey 100-6

Unfortunately, not a single renault/alpine was entered (nor peugeot or citroen). Not even any Matras (and there were a lot of vintage open wheelers). I didn't even see any french cars in the paddock or spectating.

It was funny, but there was an (Australian) Elfin Mallala, but it DNF'd.

Far wider variety of cars than at Australian Vintage races -- some really
exotic machinery...

Don't suppose Don Thallon was the driver?

You got any pics from your trip?
