I have a Renault car, a TS20,
Renovating this has cost me plenty
And still not finished, for alas I lack
A decent usable replacement vac-
advance unit, the old one's stuffed and sucks
No longer; new ones cost too many bucks
And my already wretched bank account
Suffers withdrawal systems, such amount
I'd hate to pay (in any case I'm mean)
And cost of new ones really is obscene.
So, fellow frogs, if any can assist,
Having a spare one that will not be miss'd,
Pray contact me, a man of dollars few,
And in my prayers I shall remember you!

Gets rid of the pesky old vacuum advance, but don't forget you also need the Renix ignition stuff too!

Ah, Renix ignition could be
tricky, but now you see
TS20 is quite unhealthy
Additional enhancement is required
to rejuvinate the old and tired
electricals. It is desired
that a replacment is found,
maybe you could go to ground
and search pick-a-part, and sound
off the proprietor, who may
be able to locate, for some pay
a replacement distributor. Hooray!

:D

Thank you respondents. Two of you mention "Renix"; I have the manual which gives details of electronic ignition, but there is no mention of "Renix". What is this, and is it applicable to a car made in Dec '81? Are such still available, and if I were to buy one, should I still be able to eat for the balance of the the year?
Yours batrachosially,

Katak,
Is it the small vacuum unit on the side of the dizzy you require? I may have one here from the 3 R20ts I have owned in the past.
Let me know if you that is the bit you are after and I will search through my distributor bits box and see what I come up with. I recall having to replace a distributor due to a cracked lobe at some stage in the past on my 2nd R20 I think.
Let me know.
Cheers Chris
