There was only 2 Pugs and 2 RSC's out of a massive 130 cars....where were you guys? It was a great day for track as not hot and a huge variety of cars.

Due to the success of these events they were talking of breaking the event up into teams of 4 cars EG; 4 alfas verses 4 Escorts etc etc.

The most awesome of cars today IMO was the Supra with the Garrett T72...that was one serious quick car [on the straights anyway!! LOL ]

cheers JR

Although I will do Saturday Sprints from time to time, I am a bit over the waiting around, reduced laps in a session and the boring layout of QR. Did Morgan Park full circuit last Thursday and Darlington Park the Sunday before. We should organise getting to these tracks as a group some time. I did somewhere between 60-75 laps of Morgan Park on Thursday at a cost of $55. You do have to take the day off work though.

What times were you doing JR?

Cheers,

Cal.

It was a good day, well worth it just to see the black supra blasting through on the straight...what a noise!!!

JR did a fantastic time of 63 sec. That's one seriously fast PUG 205, your heart is still strong JR!!! That Cobra breathing down your neck also helped you a bit eh :D

Rich's PUG 206 180 is also doing very well, a time of 67 sec is excellent!

67 flat with street tyres and a spin out of the exit of corner one. :disappr: Bump out of the exit unsettled the car and 'round she went before I knew it. Ended in the infield so all was good. Entering at around 150km/h and trying to maintain the speed through... felt fine turning in and through the corner, just lost it out the exit. Now I know to floor it more coming out of it. :D Gotta start hitting the S's harder as well and 1:06's on street tyres is pretty attainable I think. I've got nearly two months to get semi-slicks so I'll see how it goes. Good day but heaps of people out, 128 was my count.

Morgan Park rocks though, went out on a weekend last year with the Corvette Club, definitely should arrange something. Hey Cal, how was the training out at Darlington Park? Looking at doing the full day advanced training course out there.

Kermit; no piccies sorry m8.
Steve, thanx for all those nice words..did you end up fixing that hiccup with the suspension, she'll be a stormer when its right i reckon !
Cal; yep, pretty happy with that time especially when my suspension setup is not vey good at the mo.[ i had to back off corner 1 and 2 as she was getting too jittery ] Its Murpys Law...hadnt had a wheel align or balance for 2 yrs so got one done and the suspension tuned for QR by a race guru and the car hasnt been the same since!! Urgggh !!
As well as that i had the engine "detuned" before QR to see if it would solve the hitting rev. limiter problem down the straight. The detuning worked however i know there is more HP still waiting there for me to regain but i'll need to fit a crank trigger which is turning out hard to find.
Morgan Park seems to be the go...why not a French day there plus guests !!
cheers JR

Yes JR, raised the car up a bit. Have tested at some roundabouts, no rubbing at this stage. It's as good as new!!

Cal,
we spoke to the bloke who owns Darlington the other day and he is extremely keen to have car clubs out there, so hopefully we will organise that with the westy club. he said he was watching on the sunday you were there but didn't have time to come down and have a chat. was very happy to see the MX5's he said. how stealth is the bloke!
anyway, morgan park is this sunday if you were up for it again so soon. i think we have the full track this time too.
for everyone, there is a skidpan night planned thru HRCC for Saturday night the 12th of June (2 saturdays aaway) at mt cotton.
they are still a bit short on numbers, so if you could make it, that would be tops. Cost is $85 for 4 hours which includes instructors. if intersted please email paulm@hscc.org.au and let him know you can make it.

cheers

lol.....do I know you? :roflmao:

Tell me more about Morgan Park on Sunday. I don't think I can make it though. Pity it isn't a few weeks away.

Yeah the guy at Darlington has always had a secret passion for MX5's. Do you know how I can contact him?

Cheers,

Cal.
