Ok here is one that i have been trying to nut out for a little while
We all know that the PRV V6 started out life as a V8
What i want to know is did the V8 ever make it off the drawing board ?
Or was it destined to have 2 cylinders cut off before it ever made it to the shop floor ?
If so how many were ever produced and where are they now ?

Unfortunately the V8 story is an urban myth. A report (in Adobe Acrobat format) by the team of 3 engineers who designed the PRV V6 is available for download on one of the Delorean websites (I think it's a German website). In the report the engineers outline why they chose to design the engine the way it is, and it has nothing to do with it ever originating as a V8. They never intended to produce an engine any larger than 3 litres from this design. They just wanted an engine capable of pulling their biggest body shells, while remaining as light and as short as possible.

To get a copy of that engineers report go to:

<a href="http://home.planet.nl/~perotti/dcn/engels/d_download-hoofd.html" target="_blank">http://home.planet.nl/~perotti/dcn/engels/d_download-hoofd.html</a>

Then go to the bottom of the page and download the "PRV-V6 Engine Technical Manual".
