Apparently Peugeot sold a 'Sports Pack' equipment upgrade / whatever for the 406 and 306 in the late 90s.

Does anyone know what wheels were offered on the 406? They're specced at 16" x 7.0 on 215/55 rubber. Never seen them before - Peugeot / Speedline or local?

And less to the point, does anyone know of someone who forked out nearly $10k for an Eibach Pro Kit, Remus exhaust, some alloys and a tarted up front and rear spoiler?

Zender Monza's, I think.

Discontinued now?

These are the wheels!

There on my 405, I found them at Reno Spares and Dad gave me them because we came to the conclusion that there not standard in Australia. It seems they are just not common! They where brand new, the previous owner imported them! Now they've had tyres for about 2 months!

I've seen two - one silver and one white! For the 306, some bloke around the corner had one with the sports pack, without the quad headlights...

10k - Phark that!

I have seen one 406 around identical to the one in the pic. Same wheels and kit, it looks low too. I have seen one or two 306s with the quad headlights kit.

I remember when this came out. if you added all the available options to a 306 "style" it'd cost you almost the same as a GTi-6!!!

Mine

Peujohn,

It's mine that you've seen locally. (silver)
I didn't buy it new but it's got all the fruit described above. My wife hunted it down, test drove it and bought it for me. We didn't pay over the odds for the car when it came out of lease. So the extras were essentially "free". Paid the same sort of price privately as we would have to a dealer for a used standard 406 of the same kms. I love it!

Mine is a very late D8. The D9 had a similar, but I think simpler makeover which was called the "Monaco" according to the decals. I reckon it's worth chasing one down if you're in the market.

Cheers,

David

That would be it, David. It seems every time I see you you're turning around the round-a-bout from York Rd to Monbulk-Silvan Rd!

Yep, Zender Monza. Don't know what happened to Zenda, they don't seem to be selling wheels in Aus anymore, although some patterns are still available in South Africa ...?

Pity, really nice wheel, lucky for you Cav!

Kind of ironic that Peugeot went with mostly German aftermarket parts (Zender, Eibach, etc). Of note, Zender also made the Audi S8 wheel, I think it was called 'Tuner' or something.

Peugeot 406 Monaco

I am currently running a Monaco , 2001 406 . Only 25 produced , apparently an Aussie special as advidsed to me by the Peugeot people .

No one seems to know much about then .

Great car to drive .

Peugeot 40x Monaco

This is the information the Peugeot Customer Relations Dept sent me

The Monaco (Model – 406 SV – V6 Petrol Manual Vehicle) was an Australian exclusive model and was a special package that was offered. It was limited to 25 vehicles in total. It had the following additional features which included:

- limited edition (only 25 manufactured)
-eibach sports springs both front and rear
-rear remus muffler
-16 inch alloy wheels as opposed to the regular 15 inch
-GTi stainless / alloy gear knob
-Monaco Logo on front guard

If someone tells me how I'l post a photo of the car . Mine was purchased in Melbourne , had a sun roof fitted then the owner was transferred to Tasmania .

I bought it from a person who specializes in disposing of "exotic" cars for car yards.

Possibly part of a deceased estate.

My only problem was the fuel line where it attaches to the engine assembly coming apart . Bit hairy with fuel spraying over the engine block .

RACT clicked it back into place , checked by the French Car specialist seems OK.

I've got the same wheels as cav on my 405. See my avatar on the left.

Decent wheels, although mine have a little bit of gutter rash from the previous owner(s).

I saw a fully optioned 306 Cabrio yesterday...

Firedance in colour, quad headlights and the optional alloy wheels - looked good, but it would of been one hell of an expensive car brand new!

So they are out there! :headbang:

Yeah some good looking wheels but I think they suit your white car better!

purchased my Monaco in July 2010. No complaints . Have now clocked up 180000 K The following is what Peugeot Australi told me.

I have photos but do not know how to post them to this site

My coupe has 16" wheels. i would have thought they are necessary because of the Brembo brakes
