The Peugeot Club of Queensland had its annual Presidents Day Run on Sunday. 9 cars entered the event, meeting in the Brookside carpark at 9.30am. We set out in 3min intervals following written directions, which to the newly acquainted like me, were somewhat cryptic.
The run took us on a mixed road type, with "pain-in-the-arse" suburban streets slowing us down amongst nice sealed rural roads and a fun section on dirt. All up the run was about 60kms which took some only 1 hour. Although only averaging 60km/h, when you take into consideration multiple passes to get the right answer, and getting out to find clues, we moved along at a fair rate.
We all met up at a Cafe near our departure point and had a nice lunch and regaled our tales of the trip. After all the answer sheets were taken in and marked, the results came back. With immense surprise, Nick Watson (Peugeot) and I won the day, however only by 2 points which really is only a bees d^$k considering if you came in 1 minute early, you lost 10 points, and each question was only worth 10 points!!!
Below are copies of the photos I took before and after the event. Unfortunately I couldn't take any during the run as...well, lets just say I was having FUN , and Nick, he was too busy working out how many days since September 28th 1910 and throwing driving guides out the window.
Can't wait till the next one.
Pictures to follow...
