This is how it looks when a load is being taken to the chop shop...

This is at the old Jack Geary 'farm' at Bungendore... Richard Adams is cleaning up and so many good cars had to be sold off quickly.

Pity... but that's the way it is.

Its sad , Ray. Still. I guess at the same time it means that they'll probably acquire a new lease of life, either whole or as parts, in a place where longevity counts for much more than it does here, for people who can't buy a replacement new jap junk box every three or four years instead.. A bit like the the old pre revolution cars in Cuba.

Cheers

Rod

Richard told me a while back he had something like 140 Pugs of different varieties lying around there. Is he sending them all o/s?

Ralph.

From what I saw the other day, there might be 40 or so left when the cleanup is complete.

He says that any that were particularly good were kept, and it's clear that some cars were kept purely for spares.

The 404s all remain, IIRC, but some of the stuff is still Jack's.

Bloody hell Ray,

I live 20kms away but have never been to "the farm". How do I visit/contact the owner to see if there is anything worth salvaging?

ian.

Speak to Jack Geary or Bill MacNamee in the first instance, I'd say.

But the stuff that's going is a done deal. No point in rushing out there to get something before the Africans take it away, because they've paid their cash and it's theirs.

But when you do want something, Bill will no doubt have a good idea of what's available. If he sees fit to give you Richard's phone number, then that's fine.

I have it, but I don't feel I have the right to simply pass it on. Especially seeing as these other avenues exist...

Try joining the Peugeot Club of the ACT. The farm has been well known in the area for many years. The guy that owns an adjoining one owns beetle exchange and has about 600 beetles there.

Not anymore! Somebody complained to the council and they're forcing him to remove the beetles. While the complaint was going through the motions, the Peugeot club got dragged into it too and thus the clearing out of Richard Adam's farm.

One of the adjoining properties wants to subdivide, hence the issues coming to a head with council, and threats of fines, etc. The passing of an era in Peugeot spares in the district. I got my last parts car there, for the Turbo Diesel that I replaced mine with when I did the head gasket.

By the way, the semi holds five complete cars. One up front, and the two intermediate shelves in the rear are adjustable for height.

I think they're set low as they load the upper on, then they lift them so there's room underneath for another car.
