Where in Vic can I find an off-car injector cleaning service?
Our mechanics says that on-car won't do the job properly.

It's for 2 205GTi's btw :)

Depending on the type of system, it's not all that hard to remove them to give them a physical inspection.
If they are the same as a BX16V Bosch Motronic, they are removed by taking off the fuel rail & wriggling them out of their sockets.
Most auto electricians I think you'll find will have the ultra sonic gear to clean them properly as it's not all that expensive to buy.
If you are going to do the job properly, fit a new set of caps & "O" rings (2 to each nozzle plus one for the fuel rail; 9 in total @ 55cents each) and then you don't have to drive with one ear waiting for the muffled VvvvrooOOOOMMPPHH!! when the leaking "O" rings send out enough fuel vapour to make contact with a hot exhaust.

How do I know this happens??? I got 2 that have had underbonnet fires whilst owned by other people.

Cheers.

Are the caps and O-Rings items to get from Peugeot, or are they relatively generic?

Bought a set at Repco; "O" rings @ $1.40 each + GST.
Next set came from Auto-Pro; "O" rings @.55 each incl GST.
My son just fitted a set of caps on to his car which weren't all that expensive & again came from an independent parts place (probably the same place the Pug dealer would buy them from) :D

Fairly general kind of part not all that specialised. Cit dealers talk $s each so I expect the Pug lot would be the same.
Just smear with a light coat of silicone grease before you refit & they just slip in. Makes one real big difference to the running of the car though!

Hi, took ours (R19) to a place in Richmond off Church St. They have a proper machine (aussie made) that shows flow and pattern as well as doing an ultrasonic clean. They replace O rings etc. It's $30 a unit.
Our R19 was running rough at ideling when cold.
The machine clearly showed unequal flow and some abnormal spray patterns. After clening them they were all the same and the problem was fixed
