Here's another good one. Noticed my fiancee wasn't a listed driver on the BX19tri's insurance policy when it was due. As she does about 99% of the driving in the car I thought it would be a good idea. Now she's 21 has 2 years driving experience. I thought "this'll be bloody good they'll probably refuse to insure her". After all it is a Citroen and I always had trouble getting insurance when I was under 25.
They worked out the new premium, it was LESS!! I asked how is the possible?? You see a women with 2years driving experiance still on her 'P's is less of a risk than me who has belted shit out of cars for 9years with a license (and about 8 years prior through the bush in paddock bombs) never had any accidents or speeding fines, or any driving offences.... Hows that for crazy, man I must be a bad risk?
This is bloody ridiculous, I think I'll insure all my cars in her name....

Here is a message posted yesterday on the Australian Citroen Bulletin Board regarding another purchase of Berlingos - Tha author shall remain Anon.
Yesterday there was a tiny little article (along with a photo) in Melbourne's Herald-Sun newspaper about how Australian Therapeutic Services (condom manufacturers, amongst other things) had recently taken delivery of a fleet of Berlingos. Well... actually, the article was more about the press release that Citroen had sent around to advertise this fact, featuring a snippet of the press release.
ATS are responsible for 'Four Seasons Condoms' who have erected (ooh, err, missus!) a great billboard that I drive past every day on my way to work. Pictures three condoms in varying sizes - caption: "Now comes in three sizes"........
From a certain source I've managed to get my hands on a copy of said press release.... Read on!
CITROEN SCORES WITH CONDOM CONTRACT
Australian Therapeutic Supplies has bought a fleet of Citroen Berlingos for its "Urgent Condom Delivery Service" that delivers thousands of condoms across Sydney every week.
"The Citroen Berlingo fought off stiff opposition to win this contract," explains Graham Porter, Director of Australian Therapeutic Supplies. "We chose the Berlingo because it could carry a bigger load than any of its competitors, but still get in and out of tight spaces quickly and easily. With front wheel drive and Michelin tyres, it can handle wet and slippery conditions effortlessly, while the large rear entry barn doors make loading the Berlingo a breeze. And to say the Berlingo drives like a car is an understatement, its ride quality, handling and road holding put many cars to shame, let alone delivery vans."
Under the Four Seasons Condoms brand name, ATS supplies condoms right across Australia to supermarkets, convenience stores, chemists, specialist shops, and an increasing number of self service machines. The Berlingos have been sign written to match one of their most popular lines, multicoloured condoms, but as well as standard condoms, the company also uses the Berlingo to deliver a wide range of specialist condoms, including flavoured and glow-in-the-dark condoms.
The Citroen Berlingo is an outstanding success for Citroen in Australia, with its combination of an 800kg payload, three cubic metre load bay, an interior designed for business use with features such as a seat that folds down into a desk and a superb $16,399 price or $18,120 with AirCon.

Well at least we now have a comeback...
When the NRMA person finally shows up on that cold wet rainy night and says "Ah, bloody sitruns" we can say, "Yes but you guys drive 'em now, so we're even!!"
However there is nothing quite like arguing with the person on the end of the NRMA phone to get a falt bed sent instead of a tow truck! Twice now I have had Cit failings requiring transport (busted BX ball joint, broken DS clutch coupling) and both times I have had to repeatedly remind them that it is a Citroën and they must not be towed.
Anyway, my 2 cents

Re the insurance premium, i think you will find that rates are set from the previous years experience with claims, claims for that particular car (see WRX for eg), and the fact that last year, maybe not as many claims were made, premiums drop. The opposite is also certainly true. I think you will also find that she would be listed on your policy with your discounts (ncb), so if she insured under her own name and details, a higher premium would ensue.
I would reckon part way through your current term, a re-rate would have occured hence the drop in premium.

nope the premium was due in a weeks time. When I went in to pay it and asked for her to be put on the policy they I was told "this will influance the amount, hang on while I work out your new amount!). I won't say what I thought...... She tried to explain to me that Angela was a better risk than me... I asked how could a 21 year old with 2years driving experiance still on her 'P' plate be a better insurance risk than me with 9 years driving experiance, no Road Traffic offence AT ALL, and have never had an accident.... She couldn't explain...
