Hi Mark, it has to be one of two things....
1. No fuel.
2. no spark.

You say there's plenty of fuel. Therefore I'd be checking for voltage at the coil, and checking the condition of the points. If it has electronic ignition, it could still be a coil problem, or lack of spark for some other reason.
Check the condition of the segments in the distributor cap, and the rotor itself.
Good luck.

Crank Sensor

I NOTE YOUR CAR IS A 16V BX HAD THIS PROBLEM SOME TIME AGO EXCEPT I WAS IN MOTION AT THE TIME 140K AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE GO PEDAL STOPPED WORKING. TOW TRUCK 1 WEEK AND $500 worth of auto elec and put multi meter on crank sensor output while turning motor over no signal . sensor lives under hydraulic pump left upper of gearbox casing hidden like all the best little buttons :nownow: If someone doesn't tell you you could run around in circles for ever. Mine had been knocked during a previous clutch change
:adrink: good luck

Thanks guys I got it going it was I think the lead from the coil to distributor,Got one from super cheap off the shelf almost the same length and all.
cheers Mark

That's good news Mark, something simple for once. :D
It's always a good idea to start with the basics and work up from there.
