One finds things like this when one hasn't got a life and spends too much time surfing the Internet.
The image was on a German website but they didn't say too much about the 'modifications'.
It's pretty safe to assume that this is no longer powered by and 1289cc Cleon motor.

I can see why they cut the nose of the 12, in warmer months they could stand it up on end,
and use the track blades as wood chippers, whooo hooo
