LHM & Air Filter Stickers

Gee Shane, you did well to find all of those!
Did you have a look at the ones I did in Word? they are not that far off the mark!

Gerry,
Between what you have in word and Shane's images we are getting close, I'd like to see cleaned up pics and some measurements of the stickers Shane has and I'll get started on some nice vector art.

Cheers
Chris

Chris this is really encouraging. It will add a nice dimension to peoples restorations. The sticker for the early reservoir has been changed and I think I have come closer to the original colours.

I also have a spare ''Çitroen Prefere Total'' sticker if you are interested in reproducing these. Suitable for DS, GS and CX. I could send it to you if you PM me your address. These are reproductions from France.

Also if needed, I have a sticker not mentioned above from a quad-light 1976 GS that I test drove years ago, and I've also seen remnants on a poor CX 2400 at Pick-A-Part about 15 years ago. The location of the sticker was inside the boot lid on the RHS.

Unwrinkled it would be circa 110mm x 75mm "For safety, For guarantee, Require genuine Citroen parts". The same thing is in French, Spanish, German and Italian on a paper label.

It has spent the last 25 years in a book flat (just wrinkled from being on the car), if required I can post it up to Mr Greenblood for him to reproduce, as it should be a fairly simple task for someone who knows what they are doing. PM an address to send it to if wanted for reproduction.

Chris ----one sticker on its way marked "Attention Chris" I hope you can use it.

Thanks to Simon and Gerry :)
I'll get what I need from the stickers you have sent to me and post them back.

Once we get better images from Shane I'll make a start, if anyone in Brisbane with a CX has decent reference that too would be useful.

Hey frog, not forgetting you, once I've worked through the CX we can look at the BX :)

Cheers
Chris

No need to send the sticker back here either. In the unlikely event I did buy an appropriate era Citroen as another car (as I've already got too many), and it needed a sticker I'll know where to buy one from! It was just one of those things you hang onto, because it came off a car, and it might be useful, sometime. I'm glad its useful sometime has arrived, as it is always nice to see proper stickers on the cars.

bugger I didn't take those piccies last weekend .... I completely forgot. I'll do that tonight.

Chris how are you progressing------any Joy?

urmmm, well it would be good to have some real reference....

I like to get the artwork as close to original as is possible, match fonts, line breaks, spacing, sizes etc. I'd also like to hear from any Brisbane CX owners - I'd be able to get good images and see the substrate individual stickers are printed on. That's just me, I can't see the point in producing something that is just close when for a little more trouble we can get it right.

We'll get there Gerry, looking like a 2013 project, things are ramping up at work pre-silly season...

Cheers

What a difference 24 hours can make, may have struck gold right here in Brisbane

There not easy to get to due to the awkward locations of the stickers on the cars (I did try to remove a couple to picture, this guarantees destruction though :( ).

The "two sticker" type of tyre pressures is from an early 2400 with the early the early behr heater box. The one damaged bigger sticker is from a later C-matic (80 -> 82). There is two different types of tuning stickers too.

Is anyone around here really good at photoshop ?? They'll need quite a bit of fixing up :)

Perfect thanks Shane, Photoshop is rubbish for this exercise, I'll redraw in Illustrator in vector format. Screenprint as per original, none of this digital pooh :)

I'm sure I printed at least some of the original stickers way back then, I'm thinking the tyre pressure and emission stickers at the very least, probably for ADRs organised by Maxim Motors.

Nicely done, I wouldn't have a clue as to which models these suit but hoping RobT will have a few more and we can eventually cover the full model range we saw in Australia.

Cheers
Chris

Great Work Guys. Now all we have to come up with is the semi circular LHM sticker for the reservoir. I have a close approximation of this in the Word Doc that I sent you, Chris.
The outlining of the letters with a contrasting colour is as per the original.
This is another variation of the reservoir sticker!
Unfortunately some of the script is worn off.

Chris I am reposting the sticker images that I downloaded CX Basis. I have in included the dimensions in the file name for each image. I have also included some stickers that were unusual on cars in our country. I do not know if the res. is suitable but they are a accurate in text and style.

I do not know what has happened to the dimensions that I labelled in each file. But some how they have all been changed to 70x60mm Of course this is wrong!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll Fix it up and post them in the new thread.
