Just passed my first anniversary with this car. I bought the car with 54,000km. It’s only been a weekend car so the odometer now reads 60,000km 1 year later. It sits in the garage all week and only gets used on weekends. It’s been reliable and has given exceptional driving enjoyment. One of the nicest cars I’ve driven!

Just exceptional dude. After a year you must be sick of it right? I can help out if you need to move it on 😜

Good effort. I've had mine 20+ years, and now have 225k on it. Putting a few more on this weekend - big road trip to Canberra. :dance:
:peugeot::dance:

Pretty good, just a few niggles. I broke the gear linkage once, and I had one electrical issue that we couldn't get right until we tightened the battery terminal. I still love driving it (although I think I prefer my new daily, an i20N, for absolute fun), and we're taking it to Canberra because we need the extra boot space. My biggest worry is having some bogan sh1tbox driver give me car park acne on the boat. And keeping under 110 on the Hume. Without cruise control, that worries me.

Very nice! Drive safe and take some photos, I’d love to see 🤗

Not to go off topic, but you're the third pug owner who I've heard speak about the i20 N ... They must be alright.

did you test drive the Fiesta ST and base Yaris GR before buying? any thoughts?

I was about to ask! Fiesta ST or i20 N? The Fiesta wins on aesthetics but I've never driven one. But I know ford can engineer a good chassis.

But better than a Peugeot chassis? 🤔
Ooh, it's an interesting question. Not sure about better. Definitely good, but different approach to Peugeot's. But also depends on the years... Up until the late 90's Peugeot had it sorted. When I had my near new 306 xsi back in 2006 I thought it was the best driving and sweetest handling car. At the time the only thing that bettered it was the focus ST170. I drove one briefly at an af drinks night in Mosman.... Made me realise the pug felt a generation older.

Don't know if it's better, but it's very different. Apparently not as go-kartish as a Mini Cooper S (and I honestly can't remember how my Leyland Mini S felt, except that I loved that car). I'm not mechanically minded, but I would suggest that the Pug suspension is more supple, and the standard profile tyres for the GTi6 assist in it riding bumps much more gently than the i20N. I'm probably exaggerating, but the trip up the Hume felt like I was in some sort of Grand Tourer in comparison to the Hyundai. I found the i20N much nicer on the road than the i30N a couple years ago. Haven't tried any other brands/cars in this category. I'm just pleased to own two such joy-making cars.

Aside from this chat about other cars... How good does the GTi6 still look. Such a classic piece of design. Chunky but refined, there's almost not a bad angle. And no fussy details!

Still one of the best proportioned cars on the road, IMO. And I can't afford the few that are better!!!

So how was the road trip?
Our little car, heavily loaded, ate up the Hume Highway. And gave us 7.7 litres per 100km in return. Very happy with that. Now we're exploring Canberra, and next Friday we start the return trip to Melbourne, but we're going through the mountains this time, so there will be bends. And a lighter car. Expectation is building.
