Hi All

Having recently purchased a "hot" cam for my R15 I was wondering if there are any suitable cams around for the Douvrin 2165cc engine (8-valve) as used in the R25 and Pug 505's?

Surely someone must have experimented with this?

I would love to hear the facts and figures. ie increase in hp, type of grind etc.

Thanks in advance

I think its been mentioned on here that the Pug 505 GTi cam is the hottest "factory" cam (not sure if will drive the distributor though..)
Shouldnt be hard to get one made up I would imagine.

The 505 GTI cam has between 270 degrees and 280 degrees of duration at zero valve lift (260 degrees at 0.7mm of lift), so the 0.050" lift figure is probably somewhere between 210 and 230 degrees.

I have no other details on this cam, except that it is meant for use with a good exhaust manifold design and 9.8:1 compression. It supposedly gives 130hp and 194Nm if used this way in a 2.2 EFI engine.

Cool thanks guys.

Does anyone remember how long ago the thread on these cams was posted?

Anyone got one of the GTI cams?

Well, thats up on the 2.2 R25/R21 motor, which I think is 120bhp.
