Crankshaft for 1.8 lt 504

Early ones have the smaller rear main bearing. After 1970 this XM engine became the XM7 which used the 2 litre block and crank. If it has the open top block it will be the XM7 and the 2 litre crank should fit. I have excess undersize big end bearings for these engines if anyone is after them, happy to swap for Std size.

Thank you, Graham, this is very helpful. A veritable encyclopaedia as usual!!! This is from an early coupe, 1968 or 1969. Is it the XM7? Does the XM7 use the same connecting rods as the XN1? I am assuming the difference in engine size comes from the 84 vs. the 88 mm pistons. I will ask my friend if bearings are needed which I am sure will be the case if he cannot locate a standard crank. Thanks again!

If that early it will be an XM, not an XM7, just check and see whether it has the open top block like a 2 litre, if it has it will be an XM7. Yes rods are the same I'm pretty sure, but you wouldn't need to change them for this job anyway.
