Citroen: Loeb could drive private Xsara in 06.

Citroen boss, Guy Frequelin has said that it is possible Sebastien Loeb will run in a privately entered Xsara WRC next year - if a private team finds a good sponsor.

Frequelin was again asked about their plans for the Xsara WRC for next year at the Rally Finland, following news that work has been done on the car, which will mean it will meet the 2006 regulations, when several gizmos, most noticeably active differentials, will be banned.

"For the moment it's sure that we will rent some cars to private teams in 2006," said Frequelin.

"Also we expect for the new regulations, sporting and technical in 2007 - there is nothing decided at the moment for 2007. It's difficult to say which driver can drive the Xsara in 2006; for the private teams also nothing is decided."

Asked about Loeb sticking with the Xsara, Frequelin confirmed that it was a possibility.

"Why not?" he added.

"If a private team finds a good sponsor and Sebastien is interested by this solution then why not?

"Maybe it's possible..."
