Citroen gx marketplace

there wouldn't be many gx around you would imagine. Didn't think they came with pallas hubcaps though. Fair bit of work but worth it.

It's a GS, not a GX. A GS Pallas.

The "Type" code on the ID plate is always GX for GS and GSA cars. I don't know why.
The next pair of letters tell us what version it is - GX GA is 1015cc, GX GB is 1220cc, GX GC is a wagon 1220cc, and so on.

There is no model called "GX." Though there were GS X2 and GS X3 higher performance versions - not sold new in Australia.

apart from that plate, i think I'd never heard of GX before yesterday, and that only a suggestion that it was the birotor's intended name.
GS / GSA - obviously, GSX2 - engine and driving lights, GE " spec " ie cast rather than pressed lower arms for export models - 'etranger'?
this has various notable elements - wonderful - if not too rusted ....

no wonder I'm going mad. I assumed it was as simca points out a gsx2 etc. argggh😂

Generally, GS bumpers are stainless steel unless it is from South Africa where they used chrome and more susceptible to rusting.

The sliding sunroof and rear spoiler are very rare. I’m not sure if the rear spoiler came off a GSX2. My understanding the GSX2 had twin carbies but this example has a twin throat Weber carbie (preferred over the Solex)

Looks like it is all there, a great project for someone.

To me the sunroof looked after-market, but yes, could be a great one.

OK, so its missing a grill & air cleaner, but you can get these down at your local chemist.

The black plastic mirrors are generally better than the older chrome versions

FS/R window does not appear to have visible rust which is rare, not sure about NS/R

I’m not sure about tow bars on a 1220? But my GS Break has one and its not doing any harm

Looks like a '78 Pallas with the dual head lights replaced.
I've got a X2 wreck with single carb and flush sunroof like a birotor / CX.
Wonder if anyone has ever put twin webers + extractors on a GS?

top of the rear guard / windowsill is the first place i look ... but early fuel cap ( which i much prefer ) later console ( so gearshift - and seats? ) i suppose there's no chance it's a 5 speed ?

you can tell its an australian car as it has no glovebox lid. Its very rust free looking in the photos, even the bootlid looks good as whoever fitted that spoiler, pealed off the trim that holds water there and rotts it out.

it looks like late pallas tailight and interior tirm .... but someone has removed all the external pallas trim (which I prefer the look of :) ).

Could someone please screenshot the pics and other details for those of us fortunate enough to not have Facebook? Ta.

Andrewj – yes a bloke in Melbs has an early GS Pallas & he fitted an Alfa Romeo – Alfasud twin carb outfit. I don't recall extractors.

I can’t remember if it was Dell’Orto or Weber. The Suds ran both depending on the year.

It looked neat. I didn’t hear it running.

I've got to get back onto my GS I wanted to fit a new windscreen but that guy in Brisbane had a stuff up with a batch of screens he did I recall on here where someone ordered one and it was too short. hmmm

There where PGI windscreens about 5 years or so back - I grabbed a spare at the time - might be worth phoning around just in case.

may have found a partial answer

( other than scraped & squashed )
