Ah, so the event is at Wanneroo? I thought from the previous posts they had got permission to run around the old Caversham track (which I presumed had been bulldozed long ago).

Track is still there but hard to pick up from ground level-stands out from air if you know where to look-now surrounded by two story mansions etc.

The end of one of the run ways, either the "D" or main circuit can be seen from the road [Lord St?] up to Whiteman Park.
I come over all funny whenever I see it. :crazy:

I attended the track reunion some years back as a guest of Darryl Manning.
We did a couple of laps in his App J Simca 90A. There's a big tree now growing out of the main straight. Geez! You forget how narrow and cambered the back section, esses, now badly broken up, were. I don't recall the Simcas being fazed by the off cambers but others seem to have been.

I haven't been there since 1968. Maybe too sad. But on the CD of Round the Houses I have some 2004 photos taken by Ken Devine. This one is near the footings for the spectator bridge on the approach to KLG.
