Last year some of the guys on this board told me they intentionally hit/run over cane toads if they see one that wonders onto the road while they're driving.(My first thought was "yuck, messy") Well, I finally made my trip to Australia and didn't see ONE of these famous cane toads, is this just a myth?

How come you didn't tell us when you were arriving? We could have organized a few cane toad running over safaris for you.
You could have started down the road where I live; it's good for at least a hundred a night evil
